Lisa Hurst
Nursery ManagerI'm Lisa and I'm the Nursery Manager at Harbourside. I started working in early years in 2012, having been inspired by our journey with our son’s nursery, and experiencing on a personal level the impact of high-quality care and education in the formative years. Over the last 13 years I have experienced a range of roles from nursery apprentice, to nursery manager and everything in between. Whilst completing my FdA in Early Years Care and Education, and my BA Hons in Education Studies, I realised my passion for outdoor education and during this time was fortunate to have the opportunity to manage and expand a local forest school nursery, seeing first-hand the impact of the approach. When I was presented with the opportunity to become involved with the project at Harbourside, I knew this was the chance to create something unique and really quite special, offering a place from which children can learn whilst immersed in nature, experiencing natural phenomena first hand, and developing an authentic and long-lasting love of the world within which we live. The benefits of regular access to both green and blue spaces are increasingly recognised, and I'm eager to share these with the children, our team, and our families as our community at Harbourside continues to grow.
