🧒 About the Role

Hopscotch Day Nurseries in Eastleigh is seeking a passionate and experienced SENDCo to champion inclusive practice and support children with additional needs across all age groups. This is a hands-on role combining direct child support, coaching, and strategic SEND leadership.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

• Coach practitioners to deliver high-quality inclusive practice
• Collaborate with families and external agencies to meet children’s needs
• Lead and submit referrals and EHCP applications
• Deliver targeted interventions (e.g., phonics, physical development, talk boost, school readiness)
• Conduct audits and advise on SEN provision improvements
• Support the creation and implementation of IPPs, PECS, Welcomm, and other tools
• Guide room leaders and key persons through the OAP cycle
• Ensure timely completion of EHCPs, SEN funding applications, and referrals

🎓 Qualifications & Training

Required:

• Level 3 in Early Years and Childcare 
• Basic understanding of safeguarding
• Strong communication, teamwork, and time management skills
• Willingness to undertake Level 2/3 SENCO and behaviour management training
• Strong IT skills

Desirable:

• Specific SEN training
• Knowledge of EYFS and OFSTED Inspection Framework (2021)
• Experience within Hopscotch Day Nurseries
• EAL training and First Aid Certificate

Hours: 40 hours week (32 hours room-based, 8 hours out-of-ratio) 

Salary :£27,435.20 (52 weeks a year)
